Navistar is building a new, Industry 4.0 manufacturing facility in San Antonio, Texas to develop leading-edge commercial vehicle solutions to meet the needs of today’s – and tomorrow’s – customers. This new facility will have the flexibility to build Class 6-8 vehicles, allowing Navistar to add capacity to support anticipated industry growth while growing our market share gains, optimizing our supplier network and improving quality.     We are currently seeking a Materials Management, Senior Manager, for our newest assembly plant currently under construction in San Antonio, TX.  This role will lead all Materials Management functions for the assembly plant to include: a team of  supervisor/managers and their teams of non-represented hourly staff.  These teams work across multiple shifts, ensuring materials are where they need to be, when they need to be there, on the line.  This role will capitalize on LEAN initiatives, JIT deliverables, Continuous Improvement and an on-going focus on reducing process waste.    In addition to the responsibilities above this person will also manage our warehousing and transportation vendors to ensure they are meeting the needs of our plant per our agreements.  This role will also work closely with all engineering change overs, once again to ensure the proper parts are where they need to be.  This role will also work closely with manufacturing, quality and corporate offices.    PLEASE NOTE, THIS ROLE WILL BE TRAVEL INTENSIVE FOR THE FIRST YEAR AS THE PLANT IS BEING BUILT.  POST CONSTRUCTION TRAVEL WILL DECREASE TO LESS THAN 10%.
