  • Overview

    Systems Monitoring Analyst will be responsible in supporting systems and processes necessary to obtain our objective of proactive enterprise systems monitoring and alerting. Candidate will have the ability to work independently and in conjunction with a team of engineers. Candidate will exhibit a strong willingness to learn new technologies as they relate to this position.


    Assumes responsibility for support of the enterprise management monitoring solution enabling robust event and performance monitoring across all strategic platforms, databases, networks, web services, and other services.


    • Ensures that appropriate agents are deployed, configured and tested/validate on all critical production components.
    • Maintenance of various enterprise management systems and tools from SolarWinds, Dynatrace and  as well as xMatters alerting systems, universal discovery tools, and SNMP trap policies.
    • Building and managing monitoring templates and service maps as needed.
    • Provide technical assistance related to monitoring and alerting.
    • Partner with customers to gather project requirements and implement monitoring.


    Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with area staff.


    • Keeps administrators informed of significant problems and of progress attained in reaching established objectives. Provides recommendations for establishing new and more effective monitoring processes.
    • Assists and supports the rest of the team as needed.
    • Prepares reports of activities, records, and other required documents.
    • Attends and participates in meetings and committees as required.

    Position Purpose

    Performs IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging, installation, maintenance, and implementation of applications, packaged programs, and hardware components supporting company business processes and operations. Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies, designs, and supports operating systems, database, utilities software, packaged software, and infrastructure hardware products.  Plans, conducts and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved with customer software, packaged software, and hardware products.  At higher job levels, may contribute to the development, testing, evaluation or design of system or infrastructure used throughout the IT solution set. 


    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of information systems/information technology experience


    • At least 4 years of information systems/information technology experience


    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.     Desired Skills:

    • Experience with systems monitoring applications.
    • Experince with Linux and Windows operating systems.
    • Enterprise with systems monitoring and alerting tools and processes.
    • Bash, Perl, or other scripting experience
    • Basic understanding of ITIL
    • Basic understanding of SNMP
    • Well organized, with good verbal and written communications skills.
    • Ability to prioritize and plan projects effectively.
    • Ability to assist others and share knowledge with other team members.
