    The Procurement Supervisor will implement and monitor supply-side, demand-side and process change activities associated with indirect products and/or services. Individual will gain knowledge of and become skilled in strategic sourcing approaches, assessment of business capacities and capabilities of suppliers, as well as the ability to enhance quality, streamline work processes and eliminate rework activities to reduce total cost. This position will interact with suppliers and employees at all levels.

    • Deliver on sourcing /commercial activities with the input of cross functional teams; including negotiate prices/contracts with suppliers
    • Support Buyers / Category Managers who have responsibility for the overall category strategy
    • Perform due diligence on orders; perform various Avantis transactions to implement and/or process regular purchasing business
    • Respond to various inquiries from business owners, end users and suppliers to further the cohesive direction for indirect procurement
    • Develop improvement ideas from working with business areas to understand their business and goals

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    This role will support one or more of the following functions: material and services sourcing, procurement, supplier management, production planning, transportation, inventory control, distribution, and process reengineering.  

     

    Basic Requirements: 

    • At least 4 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

    OR

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • At least 2 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

    OR

    • Master’s degree

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
    • Ability to travel – approximately 15-20%; with travel initially between Melrose Park, IL and Corporate Headquarters in Lisle, IL
    • Negotiating experience
    • Knowledge of key elements associated with creation / administration of contracts
    • Ability to analyze product costs and understand underlying cost drivers
    • Experience in creating, leading and driving cross-functional teams
