  • Overview

    The HR Director for Navistar Defense will work closely with management to align strategic business objectives with employee matters as well as handle day-to-day transactional HR items. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues and acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, implements corporate policies related to human resources, organizational and employee development, consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach. Drives company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., salary review, workforce planning, and organizational change) and assists senior management in the development of solutions through organizational development and cultural and process-oriented perspectives.

     

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    Works closely with management in the implementation of corporate policies related to human resources, organizational and employee development at the business unit or division level. Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach. Participates in company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., salary review, stock renewal, workforce planning, and organizational change). Assists senior management in the development of solutions through organizational development and cultural and process-oriented perspectives. Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis and problem solving.

     

     

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree and at least 12 years of HR or Organizational Development experience

    • Including 2 years of lead experience

    OR

    • Master's degree and at least 8 years of HR or Organizational Development experience
    • Including 2 years of lead experience

    OR

    • At least 14 years of HR or Organizational Development experience
    • Including 2 years of lead experience

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
