  • Overview

    The Navistar Accounting and Finance team is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their Product Development Finance Group.  Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and monthly journal entries
    • Partnering with the business to ensure monthly accruals are accurate based on percentage of completion
    • Responsible for month end analysis, planning and forecasting of variances
    • Support audit (internal and external) and general documentation requirements 
    • Provide support for special projects and ad hoc analyses
    • Promote continuous improvement in the department’s processes and practices
    • Drive and support business decisions

    Develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc. Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations. Balances books and prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements. Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects. Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions. May prepare federal, state and local reports and tax returns. May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy. May generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use. May interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders. May be involved in reviewing, tracking and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations.

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least 2 years of accounting experience

    OR

    • Bachelor’s degree and CPA and at least 2 years of accounting experience

    OR

    • Master’s degree in Accounting 

    OR

    • Master’s degree and CPA 

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
