  • Overview

    Working with the VP of Product & Marketing Strategy, the Director, Market Segmentation is responsible for the development of go to market strategies for the various market segments into which Navistar sells vehicles. Responsible for directing Navistar’s market presence in these segments including tradeshow participation/activities, conference participation and support/sponsorship for industry events relevant for the specific customer segment. This function will develop the underlying value proposition (i.e. TCO, productivity, quality, safety, etc.) for the market based on the underlying purchase drivers for specific customer segments. Responsible for directing market segment specific activities including sales training content, sales tools/applications content development, market segment analysis for dealer specific market development, brand communications value proposition content and support for industry events with brand communication/corporate communications.

     

    Responsible for directing and coordinating the functional activities of Segment Managers which are responsible for specific markets and customer segments. Also responsible for Manager and Staff level development in coordination with VP of Product & Market Strategy and other departmental Directors.

    • Develop Segment Specific Marketing Plans/Playbooks
    • Develop Segment Specific Brand Communication Strategies, TCO/Value Proposition
    • Executes Dealer In-Market Analysis in Support of Segmentation Strategy
    • Define Segment Specific Sales Programs

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree and at least 14 years of marketing, sales, parts, service operations, product-related, or other relevant experience in the commercial vehicle (or related) industry

    • Including at least 6 years management experience

    OR

    • Master's degree and at least 12 years of marketing, sales, parts, service operations, product-related, or other relevant experience in the commercial vehicle (or related) industry
    • Including at least 6 years management experience

    OR

    • At least 16 years of marketing, sales, parts, service operations, product-related, or other relevant experience in the commercial vehicle (or related) industry
    • Including at least 6 years management experience

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
