    In this role, the Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for: 

    • Working with the Electrical/Thermal (Commodity Management Team) to develop and execute the strategy that supports the overall strategy for Procurement.
    • Build and manage relationships with cross functional team members and management.
    • Identify and develop new cost reduction opportunities by using all of the levers available including resourcing, global sourcing, negotiation, technology, footprint optimization, parts, etc…
    • Negotiating with internal customers and external suppliers to maximize results for Navistar.
    • Facilitate communications between external suppliers and various internal departments to resolve any queries or issues that may arise.
    • Build strong strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure that product quality, on time delivery and service levels are met.
    • Analyze total cost of ownership, and understanding the underlying cost drivers and implementing cost reduction initiatives to maximize savings
    • Lead the implementation of cost reduction initiatives to maximize savings.
    • Analyze commodity spend, including developing recommendations for category and savings opportunities

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    Performs supply chain and logistics functions, such as material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection and distribution.  Creates integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., operations, purchasing and logistics) and outside suppliers.  Responsibilities are within the Supply Chain Management function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines. 

     

     

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
    •  1 year lead experience

    OR

    • Master's degree and at least 6 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
    • 1 year lead experience

    OR

    • At least 10 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
    • 1 year lead experience

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

    Desired Skills:

     

    • Advanced degree, MBA preferred

    • Experience with Commercial Truck
