    This is a Program Based position, full time for a period of one year

    Under the direction of the Associate Director of Facilities, the Facilities/Construction Project Manager will manage facilities projects for all business units as needed.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Manage the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities
    • Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs
    • Draft statements of work for vendors; manage bid process
    • Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion

    • Responsibility for overseeing health and safety standards and compliance to codes during work

     

     

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    Plans facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation and other related costs. Inspects construction and installation progress for conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules. Develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes.

     

     

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of facilities planning/engineering experience
    • At least 1 year of lead experience

    OR

    • Master’s degree and at least 6 years of facilities planning/engineering experience
    • At least 1 year of lead experience

    OR

    • At least 10 years of facilities planning/engineering experience
    • At least 1 year of lead experience

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
    • Must be Bi-Lingual (English - Spanish) 
    • 80% travel required

    Desired Skills:

    • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably inclusive of Facilities and Maintenance
    • BA/BS degree Strongly Preferred
    • Familiarity with the manufacturing environment
    • Ability to manage trades
    • Good communication skills
