    The trucking industry is going through a dynamic phase driven by trends such as electrification, autonomy, and connectivity. Future truck designs will be influenced by these trends and you can be a part of an exciting phase in the trucking industry. The Mobile Application Developer will work with Connected vehicles, implement mobile apps for our trucks, buses and our drivers.  Navistar is committed to taking our products to the next level and we are looking for someone with enthusiasm, creativity and commitment to help us achieve our goals.

     

    The Lead Mobile Application Developer responsibilities and requirements include but, are not limited to:

     

    • Manage all aspects of the design and development process from concept, development and release
    • Manage an iterative development lifecycle (development, debugging, testing, deployment)
    • Understands product requirements and ensures the design satisfies the application
    • Will keep up to date on the latest industry trends in mobile technologies
    • Technologies: Appcelerator experience preferred, Javascript, Java, REST, JSON, integration with third party libraries, SQL
    • Experience building mobile apps for Android and iOS platforms
    • Help improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation and performing code reviews.
    • Understanding of architecture and design across systems
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to our technologies and product in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment
    • Contributes to best practices and team processes

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related computer programs. Code may be used in commercial or end-user applications, such as materials management, financial management, HRIS, mobile apps or desktop applications products. Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and
    maintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. 

     

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of software engineer experience
    • At least 1 year of lead experience

    OR

    • Master’s degree and at least 6 years of software engineer experience
    • At least 1 year of lead experience

    OR

    • At least 10 years of software engineer experience
    • At least 1 year of lead experience

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
