    The Manufacturing Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all employees are provided with a safe work environment and that all employees are working safely.

    Please note, this is a second shift position, hours are 3pm to 12:30am.


    Primary duties include:

    • Interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure achievement of safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives within the department
    • Responsible for the daily supervision of hourly employees, including, but not limited to effective management of attendance, discipline, training, and work performance
    • Responsible for enforcement of contractual language and obligations and working with local Union Representatives toward effective resolution and prevention of grievance issues 

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    Directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality and cost objectives. Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply. Plans and administers procedures and budgets. Makes budgetary recommendations and may control capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Develops schedules and manpower requirements
    for assigned areas. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.


    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of production/manufacturing experience


    • Master’s degree and at least 1 year of production/manufacturing experience


    • At least 5 years of production/manufacturing experience

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

    • Knowledge of cab assembly and welding
    • Positive Attitude, Ethics and International Values which support our company’s values, and a healthy, high performance culture
    • Demonstrated understanding in the compliance of Company Safety and Environmental policies
    • Experience in supervising employees in a represented manufacturing environment
    • Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
    • Knowledge of the truck assembly process
    • Working knowledge of basic Microsoft programs, such as Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Ability to use logic and methods to analyze problems and make effective decisions
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business preferred 
    • Prior manufacturing supervisory experience highly desired
