  • Overview

    The Senior Product Development Engineer will specify, analyze, design and release hardware changes related to transmission application needs for any of our vehicles.

     

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

    • Create clearance and fit layouts of current existing and new design hardware items, in accordance with requirements and regulations.
    • Follow projects from start to finish. 
    • Work with other engineers, Mahindra and other disciplines to control and manage the release and implementations of system hardware.
    • Contact and visit manufacturing and test facilities to develop and control the implementation of design changes.
    • Support the generation of design documentation such as specifications, DVP&R's, FMEA's, 8D, PYXIS and test reports as well as operation manuals summaries, field service manuals, build books, etc.

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    Provides technical and analytical support to Product Development Engineering. May provide direction and guidance to less experienced team members. Refers problems that cannot be resolved to the next level. Serves as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement may last throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line.

     

    Basic Requirements: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
    • At least 2 years experience in product design/development

    OR

    • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.     Desired Skills:

    • Blue print reading and interpretation of GD&T relationships.
    • Proficeint in use of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc.)
    • Posses good communication and presentation skills.
