    Navistar is currently seeking a Product Development Engineer to take our business to the next level!  

     

    Our company designs, engineers and manufactures the world's best-selling mid-range diesel engines under its global MaxxForceTM International Diesel Power brand. MaxxForce engines power on-highway commercial vehicles, off-highway commercial vehicles, on-highway consumer pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles and industrial equipment around the world.

     

    The Product Development Engineer position will support our Integrated Product Development Organization (IPD).  IPD is responsible for design and development of the next generation of Navistar engines and vehicles which include industry leading trucks, buses and military vehicles. 

     

    Product Development Engineers within IPD work in the following areas: base engine, chassis, body, product validation, electronics, calibration, thermal management, advanced technologies and NVH, just to name a few. 


    The successful candidate will partner with a seasoned manager that will mentor and train the individual to become a skilled, experienced and valued member of our engineering organization.

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    Provides technical and analytical support to Product Development Engineering.  May provide direction and guidance to less experienced team members.  Refers problems that cannot be resolved to the next level.  Serves as a central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement may last throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line.

     

    Basic Requirements: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology

    Additional Requirements:

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
    • Travel up to 10% of the time
    • Electrical Engineering degree
    • Demonstrated aptitude and ability to view assembly operation from a spatial perspective
    • Resourceful problem solver with the ability to make decisions in a timely manner
    • Ability to prioritize work, anticipate and address roadblocks, complete tasks on time, and follow through to ensure completion with a high sense of urgency

    Highlighted Preferences:

    • Electrical engineers  
    • Design and layout experience using Unigraphics UG-NX2 or any CAD related modeling software.\
    • Proficient experience in CDMS (Configuration Data Management System – Specifications System), Product Structure, Pharos, EOFF (Electronic Order File Folder) and Baan.
    • Skilled in the use of design quality tools including, Design Reviews, dFMEA’s (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), DFA (Design For Assembly) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
