    We are seeking a Manager, Technical Accounting. This position supports Navistar’s overall compliance with U.S. GAAP. Major responsibilities include:

    • Supporting the research and resolution of significant and / or non-routine transactions including but not limited to revenue recognition, leasing, variable interest entities, impairments, acquisitions and divestitures
    • Providing guidance to segment accountants on various technical accounting matters
    • Preparing technical accounting position papers
    • Monitoring new accounting pronouncements and assisting in determining the related accounting, policy and reporting impacts
    • Assessing the implementation for the new leasing standard and assisting with coordination efforts with the segment
    • Creating and updating internal accounting policies
    • Coordinating with external reporting group on disclosures in external filings
    • Working with internal and external auditors
    • Completing special projects and performing other duties as assigned

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    Provides technical accounting expertise to the organization through assessment of the facts and circumstances and performing research of the relevant accounting literature. Prepares and reviews position papers to support accounting positions and may assist with structuring of arrangements. Monitors developments of all new and existing U.S. GAAP and SEC guidance to ensure compliance. May participate in the development and revision of accounting policies and training of staff on new accounting policies. Ensures compliance with applicable internal control standards related to areas of responsibilities. May work with internal and external auditors as part of the financial reporting process. Also, may assist with preparing and reviewing periodic SEC financial statement reporting.

     

     

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least 6 years of accounting experience
    • At least 1 year of lead experience

    OR

    • Bachelor’s degree and CPA and at least 6 years of accounting experience
    • At least 1 year of lead experience

    OR

    • Master’s degree in Accounting and at least 4 years of accounting experience
    • At least 1 year of lead experience

     

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
    • Current CPA required
