    Navistar and GM have formed a partnership to manufacture Class 4-6 trucks within our Springfield Assembly Plant, we are now starting the hiring process for multiple positions to support this partnership.

     

    We are currently seeking Paint Process Engineer to join our process engineering team.  Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 

     
    • Support operators through the development of robust processes and the maintenance of documentation throughout the Paint Division
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with Environmental permits
    • Coordinate and perform training for operators
    • Perform startup, operation and support of the production areas of the facility
    • Monitor and analyze data to identify potential problems with robots and applicators, robotic equipment, troubleshooting and installations

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. 

     

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in product manufacturing

    OR

    • Master’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in product manufacturing

    OR

    • At least 7 years of experience in product manufacturing
     

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

    Desired Skills:

    • Knowledge of paint prep and application processes in a high volume, OEM environment
    • Knowledge of paint application and delivery equipment
    • Some experience with robotic equipment and programming
    • Good problem solving skills
    • Ability to multitask with minimal supervision
    • Good oral and written communication skills
