    We are currently seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) Program Manager.  This role will will be a leader in the integration efforts of new products into our manufacturing operations, working closely with leaders within AME and our manufacturing plants.  Responsible for coordinating efforts, planning and directing timelines, and financial/budget for implementation of new programs. 

     

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Lead the development process in manufacturing requirements and concept approval.
    • Communication and coordination with various plants on large complex program scope and impact
    • Provide analysis and recommendations on equipment and facility changes required for programs and changes
    • Development and tracking of manufacturing expense and capital budgets for large, complex programs and projects
    • Documentation of Navistar’s New Model Launch (NML) and Navistar Product Development (NPD) processes
    • Generate ad hoc reports on a customer’s status’s (risks, progress, contingency plans) and present them in a timely manner to the relevant groups.
    • Determine needs at the assembly locations for the manufacturing processes, work sheets and process sheets, control plans, visual aids, etc.
    • Provide support at plants, suppliers in process development, problem solving and project work as needed
    • Provide build support at plants for all program pre-production events

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    Manages the development and implementation process of The company’s products and services. Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project i.e. product on schedule and within budget constraints. This job manages specific projects that have a distinct beginning and end.

     

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of technical project/program management experience

    OR

    • Master’s degree and at least 3 years of technical project/program management experience

    OR

    • At least 7 years of technical project/program management experience

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

    Desired Skills:

     

    • Automotive/Trucking Manufacturing experience is desired, but not required
    • Plant engineering and process development
    • Demonstrated understanding of BOM’s, Process sheets, work instructions
    • Demonstrated understanding of Supply Chain (order entry, scheduling, expediting etc.) and Logistics (3PL, transportation, packaging etc.) processes
    • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality processes (audits, claims etc.) within manufacturing systems
    • Demonstrated ability in computer skills Excel, Access or other spread sheets. Able to perform data compares, adds and or deletes to establish working documents
    • Proven ability to get results in an ever changing environment
    • Ability to communicate and facilitate programs with all levels of the organization
    • Manufacturing Program/Project Management experience
