    In this role, the Procurement Sourcing Specialist - Brakes will work directly with the Commodity Supply Manager to support and or lead the following  
    • Working with the Brake CMT (Commodity Management Team) to develop and execute the strategy for the brake office that supports the overall strategy for Procurement.
    • Build and manage relationships with cross functional team members and management.
    • Identify and develop new cost reduction opportunities by using all of the levers available including resourcing, global sourcing, negotiation, technology, footprint optimization, parts, etc…
    • Negotiating with internal customers and external suppliers to maximize results for Navistar.
    • Facilitate communications between external suppliers and various internal departments to resolve any queries or issues that may arise.
    • Build strong strategic partnerships with brake suppliers to ensure that product quality, on time delivery and service levels are met.
    • Analyze product costs and understanding cost drivers.
    • Lead the implementation of cost reduction initiatives to maximize savings.

    Position Purpose and Requirements

    This role will support one or more of the following functions: material and services sourcing, procurement, supplier management, production planning, transportation, inventory control, distribution, and process reengineering.  

     

    Basic Requirements: 

    • At least 4 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

    OR

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • At least 2 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

    OR

    • Master’s degree

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status). 

     

    Desired Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Experience with Commercial Truck or a ME background a plus
    • Experience with sourcing components, discovering competitive options and negotiating deals
    • Ability to effectively cope with change and to handle ambiguity
    • Excellent time management skills – can organize and prioritize multiple projects and meet specific deadlines
    • Ability to establish relationships and encourage cooperation between organizations
