The Technical Course Developer is responsible for creating curriculum, both web based and instructor led, that engages, educates, and supports service activities within the Navistar network. Responsible for gathering technical documentation, both internal and external, to complete training courses from start to finish.

Position Purpose and Requirements

Designs and develops technical training curriculum for customer base. Ensures that training courses address all levels of customers in the use of companyproducts/services. Designs course outlines, gathering supporting technical documentation and developing course workbooks and trainer notes. Interfaces with engineering to develop specifications for course content. Assesses customer needs for future course development.


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of technical training curriculum experience


  • Master’s degree and no experience


  • At least 4 years of technical training curriculum experience


Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
  • Technical knowledge and skills in the truck or automotive industry

    • strong knowledge of truck or automotive electronic systems
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc.)

  • Good presentation, communication, and negotiation skills

Desired Skills:

  • Familiar with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Arbortext Editor, Articulate Studio and Video Editing software
