    The Assistant Accounting Manager - Core Operations is responsible for the implementation of accounts receivable process related to the Core businesses within the Parts segment. This is a newly created role. Additional responsibilities include activities around the accounting close (journal entries and account reconciliations), controls analysis, compliance maintenance, process improvements and special projects.  


    Manages the development, implementation and/or maintenance of one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Inventories, Revenue Reconciliation, etc. in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency. Ensures integration of data produced into systems and supports objectives of financial analysts. Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue. Participates in annual audits and special projects. May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.


    Position Purpose and Requirements

    Involved in finance and accounting activities.  Conducts financial analyses; develops and
    prepares financial plans and budgets, interprets financial reports and tax returns.  Establishes and maintains accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organization's assets.  Maintains accounting and financial records and reports, including general ledger, financial statements, regulatory and management reports.


    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of finance and general accounting experience


    • Master’s degree


    • At least 4 years of finance and general accounting experience

    Additional Requirements

    • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

    Desired Skills:

    • Responsible for Parts Reman (core) accounts receivable control implementation, reconciliation and collection.
    • Responsible for the calculation and analysis of the allowance for doubtful accounts
    • Strong communication skills with suppliers, operations, and accounting staff
    • Responsible for the review and approval of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
    • Drive consistency in accounting practices throughout the Parts Reman (core) center.
    • CPA desired
    • Coordinate internal and external auditor requests
    • Drive other special projects, as required
