The commodities team manages $1B+ of raw materials spend throughout our supply chain.  The Senior Commodity Analyst will focus on strategic projects that add significant value to the company's bottom line.  This role is responsible for managing non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, brass, lead and Zinc.  Serve as an internal consultant in the area of commodity risk management.  Understand, analyze, forecast, communicate, and act on movement in the commodities markets.  Also, utilize advanced tools, such as brokerage (resale) program and financial hedges to effectively manage risk throughout the supply chain, reduce volatility, and produce better-than-market results for the business.

Position Purpose and Requirements

This role will support one or more of the following functions: material and services sourcing, procurement, supplier management, production planning, transportation, inventory control, distribution, and process reengineering.  

 

Basic Requirements: 

  • At least 4 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status). 

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics or Finance is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is required

  • Ability to prepare and deliver business presentations to individuals and groups

  • Technical and/or business understanding of raw materials is desired
  • Ability to take responsibility for multiple projects to achieve goals and meet deadlines
  • Experience in effectively managing both internal and external relationships with cross-functional groups and suppliers
  • Ability to prepare and deliver business presenations to individuals and groups
