We are seeking a Commercial Revenue Controller.  This position supports Navistar’s overall compliance with revenue recognition for Truck, our largest segment.   Major responsibilities include:

  • Review and analyze arrangements to ensure accuracy of revenue recognition
  • Manage month-end close activities
  • Provide guidance to finance and operations on various aspects of revenue recognition and assist in structuring non-standard contracts
  • Prepare and review of technical accounting position papers
  • Monitor new revenue accounting pronouncements, including the adoption of the new revenue recognition standard, and assist in determining the related accounting and policy impacts
  • Manage a team and coordinate with various groups within the organization including our financing company, warranty and foreign locations
  • Review and enhance internal controls related to the revenue process
  • Work with internal and external auditors
  • Complete special projects and performing other duties as assigned

Position Purpose and Requirements

Develops and implements revenue recognition policies and procedures in conformance with current FASB and SEC guidance. Fully manages compliance of revenue recognition process with GAAP and company standards. Reviews customer contracts for revenue recognition implications and may assist with structuring non-standard transaction details. Responsible for complying with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 requirement as related to revenue recognition. Manages month-end close activities, including assurance of accurate and timely results in cooperation with the general accounting function. Reviews, analyzes, and interprets revenue and margin reports. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. 



Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Bachelor’s degree and CPA and at least 8 years of accounting experience
  • 1 year management experience and 2 years lead experience


  • Master's degree in Accounting and at least 6 years of accounting experience
  • 1 year management experience and 2 years lead experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
  • Current CPA required
