The Senior Accounting Consultant will be essential in developing accounting processes and procedures to support the growing On Command Connection (OCC) business. The position will require the incumbent to be a self-starter, have effective communication skills, work closely with the business to minimize risk and resolve accounting issues.  The position will be highly visible to various levels of management.  Below are a few of the duties and responsibilities:

  • Performs day-to-day general accounting activities ensuring compliance with established accounting policies (US GAAP, internal policies) and procedures
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and monthly journal entries
  • Responsible for month end analysis, planning and forecasting of variances
  • Support audit (internal and external) and general documentation requirements
  • Tracking of OCC inventory transactions and OCC related purchase orders
  • Provide support for special projects and ad hoc analyses
  • Develop department processes and policies
  • Build relationships and partner with other organizations, such as; Sales, Operations, Finance, Legal, and IT; serves as SME on US GAAP compliance
  • Provide advice to management regarding accounting treatment and risks for business decisions

 

Position Purpose and Requirements

Develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc. Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations. Balances books and prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements. Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects. Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions. May prepare federal, state and local reports and tax returns. May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy. May generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use. May interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders. May be involved in reviewing, tracking and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations. 

 

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Bachelor's degree and CPA
  • At least 6 years of accounting experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience 

OR

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Master's degree and CPA
  • At least 4 years of accounting experience 
  • At least 1 year of lead experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
