Over the past two years Navistar has redesigned most of the International Truck vehicle line-up, including the LT Series and RH Series tractors, HX Series vocational truck, and soon to be introduced HV Series and MV Series trucks.  The company is witnessing market share growth in several of its core segments, a testament to the customer acceptance of its new products


The Sales Application Engineer performs a critical role, acting directly as a hands on Chassis body integrator with emphasis on electronics. They provide guidance and technical expertise to establish modifications to company products that meet our customer’s specific needs, while conforming to all of Navistar’s product safety, regulatory, and design requirements.  This is a dynamic position that allows exposure to intricate Vocational builds for a myriad of special applications.


The Sales Application Engineer will:

  • Participate in sales strategy and plans for the vocational segment of International’s Truck business.
  • Work with targeted customers to grow business and market size.
  • Provide high level and hands-on consulting to our dealer’s with regard to the proper product for their particular customer
  • Assist dealers in growing their businesses, engineering and marketing configurations.
  • Work with Truck Equipment Manufactures (TEM) integrating special purpose bodies with International chassis.
  • Program our open system controllers to provide maximum usability and safety 



Position Purpose and Requirements

Provides technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products. Works directly with customers and also assists other sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and
preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer solutions.  May provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.  May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by
disseminating technical information on specific applications.


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree


  • At least 2 years of sales, product support or engineering experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
