The Director, Business Development will be responsible for identifying, analyzing and making recommendations to top management related to new growth-related business opportunities for Navistar.  The successful candidate must be results driven and possess demonstrated cross-functional leadership skills, a strong, broad-based understanding of the North American truck/bus market, technology trends and the competitive landscape so as to thoroughly assess new business opportunities.  This position will also interface extensively with executive management and partners outside Navistar, making strong communication/command skills and business acumen key success factors.

Position Purpose and Requirements

Evaluates and manages new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures. Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives. Defines vision, strategies, and tactics. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 14 years of business development, mergers and acquisitions, or joint venture experience
  • At least 6 years of management experience


OR

  • Master’s degree and at least 12 years of business development, mergers and acquisitions, or joint venture experience
  • At least 6 years of management experience


OR

  • At least 16 years of business development, mergers and acquisitions, or joint venture experience
  • At least 6 years of management experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
