Overview

The Technical Specialist – Brake Systems will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the design and development of Foundation Brake and Wheel End components. 
  • Provide technical support for overall vehicle brake system, with emphasis on Foundation Brakes and Wheel Ends
  • Interface with cross-functional teams to resolve any issues as the product(s) move to production and distribution.
  • Experience in creating and utilizing quality tools such dFMEA, DFA, Design Requirement Document (DRD), and kPACS.
  • Oversee testing, validation, and certification of Foundation Brake and Wheel End components.

Position Purpose and Requirements

Oversees overall support functions for Product Development Engineering. Responsible for leading the processes, problem solving and implementing solutions to the complex and high risk engineering issues. Influences technical and regulatory standards bodies. Provides proactive strategy around identified opportunities. Serves as a critical asset in helping senior management articulate financial and technical strategy.  Serves as a critical asset in helping Corporation influence the engineering strategy of key partners.

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • At least 8 years experience in product design/development or new technologies
  • At least 2 years experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies

OR

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • At least 6 years experience in product design/development or new technologies
  • At least 2 years experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies

OR

  • PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • At least 4 years experience in product design/development or new technologies
  • At least 2 years experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
