We are seeking a Manager, External Reporting. This position supports Navistar’s overall compliance with U.S. GAAP. Major responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the preparation of filing of SEC reports including Form 10Ks, 10Qs, 8Ks and other filings as necessary
  • Manage the development of MD&A with business unit leadership
  • Managing the External Reporting in coordinating the accumulation of financial information necessary for completion of SEC filings
  • Supporting analytic review of consolidated financial information
  • Working with Investor Relations department, Financial Analyst group, and Corporate Communications in drafting earnings releases as well as ensure financial accuracy of analyst presentations
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable internal control standards related to area of responsibility
  • Assisting in management of job performance and development of External Reporting personnel
  • Working with internal and external auditors
  • Completing special projects and performing other duties as assigned
  • Possibility of 10% International Travel 

Position Purpose and Requirements

Gathers data and prepares documents required by government and regulatory agencies (US SEC, EU, FASB) for external financial reporting. Uses a formal process for appropriate data gathering, consolidation and analysis of financial data relative to the preparation of required regulatory filings, including but not limited to 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy statements and the annual report. Prepares cash flow statements, earnings release calculations, equity footnotes and other equity related disclosures. Ensures data integrity and proper accounting and with auditors who support the review and audit of regulatory filings. Gathers reference material concerning new and existing technical accounting literature to ensure compliance.

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of accounting/financial reporting experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • Master’s degree and at least 4 years of accounting/financial reporting experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR 

  • At least 8 years of accounting/financial reporting experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills:

  • Big Four public accounting experience a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter and has the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including the ability to manage effective relationships with business units, external auditors, and management.
