The Sr. Program Manager-Technical (Channel Readiness) is responsible for executing the service plan for new product launches. This role focuses on achieving customer satisfaction and Uptime by managing the delivery of service support materials and processes to Navistar’s dealer network for new product launches.  Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Act as the service lead on engineering program teams as the senior program/project manager.
  2. Direct multiple large product programs and maintains communication with interested parties.
  3. Collaborate in a cross-functional team environment to develop service plans with functional area leads – providing guidance, leadership and support as needed to build effective plans
  4. Manage program budgets, resource requests and may help track spend back to IPD finance to ensure visibility of service development costs
  5. Is responsible for managing documentation including: intricate spreadsheets, graphs and PowerPoint presentations for meetings and reports
  6. Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and exercises sound business judgment.
  7. Interacts in a professional manner with senior executives internally and customers/dealers/ partners/ suppliers externally.
  8. Effectively handle multiple priorities to meet all objectives and deadlines.
  9. Be comfortable with ambiguity, changing business priorities and high pressure demands that come with program launch activities F
  10. Follow service readiness processes and requirements to manage a product program
  11. Ensure completion of applicable Service documentation and project process deliverables
  12. Champion the inclusion of Service quality targets as identified by service engineering into engineering program deliverables (ensuring requirements are added to concept sheets, design requirements etc.
  13. Coordinate Service participation in appropriate engineering phases such as: FMEA, DFMEA and architecture reviews
  14. Work with service engineering and other service development teams design teams ensure Voice of the Customer (VOC) is heard by IPD in the product development process
  15. Serve as the primary point of contact for all Service development groups on assigned programs

Position Purpose and Requirements

Manage the development and implementation process of the company's products and services.  Leads a cross-functional team of experts working on related projects by managing the projects in a coordinated way to obtain benefits and control not available by managing them individually.  Focuses on project interdependencies and helps to determine the optimal approach for managing them.  Customer point of contact. Managers cost, schedule and performance.  Maintains continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives.  Builds credibility and rapport with the stakeholders at multiple levels internal and external.  Ensures the ultimate success of the program.

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Master’s degree and at least 6 years of technical project/program management experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of technical project/program management experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • At least 10 years of technical project/program management experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills:

  • Experience with New Product Development: Component, Subsystem, System Integration, or Product levels
  • Process focused: Experience with Engineering Gate Process
  • Serviceability, Warranty and FMEA experience
  • Skilled in data collection and analysis to drive fact-based, monetized recommendations using problem solving
  • Communication & presentation skills: experience and confidence with communications and ability to influence across a matrix organization
  • Experience with customer-facing roles, responsibilities, and communication
  • Program/Project/Product Management experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of fuel dispenser/pump industry (preferred)
