Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Marketing Director, Navistar Parts, will develop and launch strategic marketing efforts to grow the parts retail business through the dealer channel.

 

This person will demonstrate an ability to manage the entire marketing process from strategic through creative execution, using internal and external resources in a demanding, fast-paced environment. This person will have day-to-day oversight for all marketing activities for the Navistar Parts business, working in collaboration with the Parts product teams, sales organization and regional marketing team.

 

  • Developing comprehensive Parts marketing strategies and tactics that address business needs, including but not limited to customer insight-based planning to drive dealer retail sales, improve performance of our all-makes parts business, understanding target audience segmentation and ability to activate, understanding of channel roles and cross-channel activation and measurement.
  • Possess a unique blend strategy, creativity and retail marketing experience with the ability to understand business needs, marketing’s role in helping to solve and deliver through creative execution.
  • Leading cross functional initiatives, including but not limited to truck, parts, service, local dealer marketing, engineering, pricing and promotions, product level executive and sales.
  • Managing agency partners across channels to drive industry-leading retail marketing efforts across print and digital advertising, events, public relations, digital, CRM.
  • Budget maintenance and metrics reporting

 

Position Purpose and Requirements

Directs the development of company marketing programs. Responsible for assessment of existing and potential markets, coordination of technical product development, development of product strategies, definition of promotional activities and product launch. Activities may include technical
sales support; product advertising/promotion; planning, developing, and implementing multiple channel programs; and directing the development of company market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s). Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of marketing experience
  • At least 4 years of management experience

OR

  • At least 12 years of marketing experience
  • At least 4 years of management experience

 

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
  • Experience with retail programs and/or ecommerce
  • Must be willing to travel on an average of at least 25% of the time.

Desired Skills:

  • MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading, planning and executing marketing plans, with particular emphasis in retail, digital and e-commerce.
  • Knowledge of market segmentation techniques, market analysis, and marketing strategy development.
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Product knowledge or aptitude to quickly learn vehicle product attributes.
