The Accounting Consultant Senior manages the accounting for stock based payments and certain legal reserves from the transactional level to SEC financial statement reporting. Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations, calculates stock award fair values, and completes forecast submissions related to responsible areas. Reviews accounting guidance and provides direction to management on the proper accounting treatment for proposed transactions. Prepares financial statement footnotes related to stockholders’ equity, earnings per share, and stock based compensation.

 
Major responsibilities include:
  • Accounting for stock based payments and certain legal reserves
  • Forecasting for those particular areas
  • Monitoring new accounting pronouncements and assisting in determining the related accounting, policy and reporting impacts
  • Coordinating with external reporting group on disclosures in external filings
  • Working with internal and external auditors
  • Completing special projects and performing other duties as assigned

 

Position Purpose and Requirements

Develops, implements and/or maintains one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc. Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations. Balances books and prepares profit and loss, cash flow, income and balance sheet statements. Monitors and develops monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects. Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions. May prepare federal, state and local reports and tax returns. May assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with the company revenue recognition policy. May generate revenue reports for internal and/or external use. May interpret reports and records for managers/stakeholders. May be involved in reviewing, tracking and maintaining billing information in the financial systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations. 

 

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Bachelor's degree and CPA
  • At least 6 years of accounting experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience 

OR

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Master's degree and CPA
  • At least 4 years of accounting experience 
  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • At least 8 years of accounting experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience

 

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
