The Product Marketing Associate Director will support Product Marketing activities for North American Truck Operations for Medium Duty vehicles.  Act as an interface between Engineering and the Sales and Marketing organizations. Lead development of product related competitive comparisons. Lead the development of dealer bulletins to communicate new offerings and product changes to the Sales Organization. Assist in the identification of product needs based on customer input and provide Voice of Customer input into engineering programs. Provide subject matter support for public relations activities, advertising and marketing communications materials.


Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Obtain and provide market knowledge of; internal and competitive product positioning, price positioning, market/segment size and share trends, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate Customer Advisory Board events and membership for products and respective business.
  • Interpret market analysis and assist in the development of product plan
  • Working directly the leadership of the Sales and Marketing organization to implement company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
  • Perform competitor analysis including product benchmarking (competitive comparisons), competitor strengths and weaknesses (SWOT), general operating strategies, and target markets
  • Prepare product sales forecasts to use in Product Development Program valuations.

Position Purpose and Requirements

  •  Directs the development of company market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s), including product strategy definition, requirements analysis, and pricing. Monitors the development of business plans, assesses market penetration, and product positioning to drive competitive advantage, revenue and market share. Reduces broad concepts and business strategies into structured product marketing plans. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Establishes pricing strategies and develops marketing tools for successful product introductions. Communicates customer feedback to engineering, manufacturing and sales to enhance existing product(s) or product line(s). Leads new product definition and business plans with joint departments. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.



Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 12 years of marketing, sales or product-related experience
  • At least 6 years of management experience

  • At least 6 years of management experience

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
